Know the table
Read the help screen for the rules, the payouts and the minimum and maximum bets. In live games, the betting window closes when the timer runs out; a bet placed late is not accepted.
Etiquette at live tables is simple: keep chat polite, do not ask the dealer for advice on bets, and do not hold up a shared blackjack table.
Choose by cost and complexity
| Game and bet | House edge |
|---|---|
| Blackjack with basic strategy, 3:2 table | About 0.5% |
| Jacks or Better, 9/6 pay table, perfect play | About 0.46% |
| Baccarat, Banker | About 1.06% |
| Craps, Pass Line | About 1.41% |
| European roulette | 2.70% |
| Sic Bo, Big or Small | About 2.78% |
| American roulette | 5.26% |
| Baccarat, Tie at 8:1 | About 14.4% |
Simple games such as roulette and baccarat need no strategy. Blackjack and video poker need a chart. Craps needs you to know which bets to avoid.

Bankroll and limits
Set a loss limit and a win target for the session and stop at either. Systems that raise bets after a loss, such as Martingale, do not change the odds and can hit the table maximum within a few rounds. A flat bet of 1% to 2% of your session budget is the steadiest approach.
